BLACKFOOT — A 22-year-old Fort Hall man was arrested following a pursuit on Saturday night.

Beaumont C. Pandoah is facing a felony charge for attempting to elude an officer in a motor vehicle, according to Bingham County Magistrate Court records.

Bingham County Sheriff Craig T. Rowland said an officer attempted to stop Pandoah for a traffic violation in Blackfoot, but he did not yield.

The officer pursued Pandoah for a short time, with speeds climbing to 80-plus mile an hour, Rowland said. Officers placed a spike strip on Highway 91 and disabled the vehicle before it turned onto Bannock Road.

Pandoah then got out of the vehicle and tried to run, Rowland said, but officers were able to stop him and take him into custody.

No one was injured in the incident.
