It was a successful weekend for one Pocatello man at the Chicago Marathon.

Pocatello’s Sam Krieg finished the race in 2 hours, 25 minutes and 59 seconds, finishing 94th overall.

He finished 90th among all male racers. Krieg, 43, was also the first man in the over-40 age group to cross the tape.

Kenya’s Lawrence Cherono won the men’s race with a time of 2:05:45.

His countrywoman Brigid Kosgei set a new world record in winning the women’s race, finishing in 2:14:04.
