I do not believe firearms will be banned in the USA, and I do not want them to be banned, but make it federal law that firearms can’t have a magazine/clip capacity of more than six rounds.

How many mass shooting have been done with a firearm that had a magazine capacity of six rounds or less?

An 80-year-old federal law prohibits one from having more than three shells in their shotgun when migratory bird hunting, Code of Federal Regulations, 50 CFR 20.21 (b). This law has not infringed on anyone’s Second Amendment rights.

Washington, D.C., and eight states and 12 cities already have magazine-capacity restrictions, and it has been upheld in the federal court that it does not violate the Second Amendment.

Six rounds are more than enough to shoot the smallest ground squirrel to the largest bear in North America or a bunch of tin cans or paper targets.

How many outcries have been made from sportsmen, gun owners or the NRA that our Second Amendment rights were taken away by the three-shell limit for migratory bird hunting?

The Federal Government made the big mistake of not restricting the magazine/clip capacity to six rounds or less on the sporting semi-automatic rifles and the military-style rifles that are made available to the public. This would not have infringed on anyone’s Second Amendment rights. They let the military high-capacity magazine become legal and available to the public, thus making these military-style rifles the killing machines they are today.

It is a sad day in America when our Congress and president of the United States gives more federal gun protection to migratory birds than our children and adults.
