US-Forest Service Relocating

The U.S. Forest Service is closing 23 research stations in more than a dozen states as part of an organizational overhaul under President Donald Trump. The move is intended to trim costs. Forest Service Associate Chief Chris French said Thursday that work being done at the research centers would continue at other sites. But French says 41 additional research stations that faced possible closure would remain open. That follows opposition from local officials and some lawmakers in Congress since the reorganization was announced in March.
