Three Soda Springs residents are turning small-town quirks and rural life into comedy gold with their podcast "The Small Town Ruckus," which has quickly become the talk of Caribou County.

Casey Batterton, Tracy Davis and Kaid Panek launched the show to explore all things Idaho, from local stereotypes to stories about tractors, tacos and small-town drama overheard in grocery store parking lots.

Casey, a nurse at Caribou Medical Center and the county coroner, had long wanted to start a podcast. When Tracy and Kaid joined the effort, the idea quickly became reality.

Tracy owns and operates Davis Repair in Soda Springs and provides the voice and wit behind Full Throttle Live DJ services.

Kaid, a rancher and the local water master, serves as the group's steady presence. Though he didn't grow up in Idaho, he relates to small-town life and plays the curious outsider, asking questions that help explain local quirks and culture to listeners.

The trio blends raw content, humor and honesty to highlight both the challenges and beauty of rural life in tight-knit communities like Soda Springs. Their approach connects people near and far, explaining inside jokes with pride and humor.

"We don't really know what's going to catch on with our listeners," Kaid said. "But we do know the pan is hot and we haven't even cracked the egg yet."

In a crowded field of thousands of weekly podcasts, "The Small Town Ruckus" stands out as a show where Idaho pride meets comedy in the heart of Caribou County.
