TWIN FALLS — On Sunday at about 3:30 p.m., Idaho State Police troopers responded to a fatal crash involving a single vehicle that drove off the northwest viewpoint by the Perrine Bridge on U.S. Highway 93 in Twin Falls.

Arriving troopers located a pickup that had gone off the bridge and struck multiple surfaces as it fell into the canyon, according to a news release from ISP. The driver, the sole occupant, died at the scene.

The involved pickup was a green 1995 Ford Ranger, ISP said.

The Perrine Bridge is one of Idaho’s most notable landmarks, stretching 1,500 feet long and 486 feet above the Snake River.

Investigating troopers are asking for the public’s help. If anyone witnessed the crash or has video footage of the incident, please contact ISP District 4 at 208- 324-6000 and reference Case Number T25000717.

The Jerome County Coroner’s Office took custody of the deceased. They will release the individual’s identity, as well as the cause and manner of death, once the next of kin has been notified and their investigation concludes, the news release states.

Jerome County Sheriff’s Office and the Twin Falls Police Department responded to assist.
