POCATELLO — A motorcyclist was injured Thursday evening during a collision with a car on the city’s north side.
The crash occurred around 7:50 p.m. on Olympus Drive near Fairway Drive.
Idaho State Police say the incident began when a Pocatello police officer attempted to stop a gray Volvo for speeding.
The 17-year-old female driver, who is a Pocatello resident, was traveling north in the left hand lane of Olympus at that time.
Motorcyclist Grayson Rhodes, 19, of Pocatello, and another motorcyclist were in the right hand lane at that time.
The teen driving the Volvo attempted to pull over as Rhodes accelerated and the two vehicles collided, police said.
Rhodes was injured in the incident and was transported to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello for treatment. He was listed in stable condition on Saturday, hospital officials said.
