House fire

This home at 426 E. Sutter Street in Pocatello sustained significant damage in an early morning fire on Monday. Pocatello Fire Department officials say the house is likely a total loss.

POCATELLO — An early morning fire caused significant damage at a house in Pocatello on Monday.

The fire started around 7:30 a.m. at the home located at 426 E. Sutter Street. Although an adult male was there when the fire started, he was able to get out safely, Pocatello Fire Department officials said. They did not release the man’s name.

Officials were still trying to determine the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage on Monday evening, but they believed that the home was likely a total loss.
