Braxton Beck

Beck

Magistrate Judge Wiley Dennert ordered a Shelley man who threatened a woman with a gun to serve a year on probation Thursday. Braxton Beck, 24, was arrested in April after a woman reported he had taken hallucinogenic mushrooms and pointed a gun at her.

Beck unloaded the weapon after the woman obeyed his order to sit down and she convinced him to lock the gun in the bathroom. He admitted to pointing the gun at the victim during police questioning.

Beck accepted a plea deal that reduced his felony aggravated assault charge to two misdemeanors: aiming a weapon at others and disturbing the peace.
