Circle Z, an irrigation and ag supply company, serves Eastern Idaho farmers and ranchers with Zimmatic pivot systems−offering expert service, parts and sales to help them successfully irrigate their crops and pastures.
Charles Begay, General Manager, said Circle Z was created in 2018 by a group of local farmers who saw a need for more affordable pricing for ag irrigation equipment.
“At that time in their area there was only one option to buy a pivot," Begay said. "When Circle Z was formed, the owners made a point to ensure that they and their neighbors could have access to more affordable prices on the things they needed to use for staying in business. They partnered with Zimmatic as manufacturer, offering a competitive option to the other two pivot brands that were available in southeast Idaho at that time.”
As their business grew, they tried to increase their footprint, to add these services to additional parties throughout the region.
“They originally started in Blackfoot, then opened a store in Idaho Falls as well," Begay said. "They opened another location in Hamer, and most recently—in 2024—opened a store in Rexburg. Now we have four locations spread throughout eastern Idaho. This enables us to help our customers and provide options that they didn’t have before—in terms of access to Zimmatic products."
He continued, "This also allows us to provide service; we can take care of customers from American Falls up to Ashton, or from Salmon to Driggs and Star Valley, at a decent price. All of our pricing is affordable and highly competitive. As a result our competitors have also dropped their prices. This has really helped our customers, whether they buy from us or from our competitors."
Input costs in agriculture keep rising, so it’s harder for farms and ranches to stay in business.
“We are a Zimmatic dealer and offer parts and service as well as installation of Zimmatic center pivots. We also offer Thunderbird irrigation products and can install Thunderbird wheel lines, and provide parts and service for those as well,” Begay said. “We can also take care of our customers other needs; the ag portion of our business can help customers either prepare for the growing season or help with harvesting after the irrigation season. We offer everything from bearings and components to center drives and gear boxes—for all brands and manufacturers. We can service not only the Zimmatic pivots but also the Reinke and Valley pivots and everything in between.”
Circle Z recently started a partnership with Broekema belted chains to give their farm customers the best options in terms of belted chains.
“We did some research and feel that Broekema offers the best option, including their durability and parts," Begay said. "We also offer sprinkler package upgrades, and FieldNET which is remote control service that Zimmatic offers, and I can put those on other brands as well.”
This flexibility gives a person a lot of control over their center pivot that they can operate from their phone. The four locations have the advantage of being able to have one big parts department.
“We can source material from it, which enables me to carry a wide selection of anything a farmer might need in terms of irrigation components or harvesting equipment," Begay said. "I also offer Milwaukee Tools. We have a wide selection of those, plus spare components for large and small irrigation systems; there is no size limitation. We keep a good inventory of pipe and mainline, as well. Whether it’s a big project you are working on, or a small project that’s gotten bigger—for any size project we offer pumps, we can do wheel drives, pump panels, flow meters, etc. and provide service for those, as well."
He continued, "We also have an in-house designer, so we can design a pivot system, and take care of sprinkler packages. We chose to do the irrigation and the ag portions of the business under one roof, which can save our customers a trip to another business. Some of our competitors only do irrigation or only have ag supplies, and we can do both.”
As part of its continued growth, Circle Z Ag & Irrigation was recently acquired by BTR Global (parent company of BTR Manufacturing, and BTR Double L). This expansion brings additional resources and long-term investment into the business while maintaining the same local service and customer focus.
The acquisition also strengthens BTR Global’s presence in Eastern Idaho, bringing together parts, service, and whole good sales into Circle Z portfolio. This alignment allows the companies to better serve agricultural producers across the region with a broader range of equipment, parts, and support.
