Throughout the NFL season, the Idaho State Journal will check in with former local players currently in the NFL. Here’s an update after the conference championship games.

Josh Hill (Blackfoot High, Idaho State University) and Taysom Hill (Highland High), New Orleans Saints

The 2018 season ended Sunday for New Orleans Saints teammates Josh Hill and Taysom Hill. The Saints were defeated 26-23 in overtime by the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC championship.

In the game, Taysom Hill scored his first career postseason touchdown. The second-year pro caught a 2-yard TD pass from quarterback Drew Brees with 8 minutes, 34 seconds remaining in the third quarter to extend the Saints’ lead to 20-10. Hill also rushed once for no yards and misfired on his lone pass attempt of the game. Hill played 11 offensive snaps and tied a team-high with 30 special teams snaps.

Tight end Josh Hill hauled in his lone target for a 24-yard gain before leaving the game with a concussion. The six-year NFL veteran finished the playoffs with four receptions for 31 yards.
