POCATELLO — The Pocatello Municipal Band is excited to be performing the first of six concerts in its 88th season in 2023. The season opener of Concert in the Park is Sunday at 7 p.m. in the Guy Gates Memorial Band Shell at Ross Park near Zoo Idaho. Free and open to the public. The concert will be a celebration of “Music from Around the World,” featuring polkas, marches, rhapsodies and music you might hear sitting at a cafe in Paris.

Our concert sponsor will be the Citizens Community Bank. The band will be led under the direction of Idaho State University professor of music and director of athletic bands Thomas Kloss. Our featured soloist will be ISU flute performance student, Amanda Smith, performing the piccolo favorite “Whistler and (Her) Dog.” We can’t wait to be together again and celebrate music as a community on Sunday nights at 7 p.m. We’d love to see you on Sunday at the park.
