POCATELLO — MDU Resources representative, JJ Murphy from Intermountain Gas, presented a $10,000 check to the Pocatello Free Clinic today, as the only winner of this grant in the state of Idaho.
MDU Resources Group Inc., headquartered in Bismarck, N.D., is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. One way the company is celebrating its major milestone is by contributing $100,000 to charities across its service territory through the MDU Resources’ Foundation’s 100-year, 100-grand program, resulting in ten charities each receiving $10,000. This is in addition to the $1.8 million the MDU Resources Foundation is contributing to charities this year as part of its annual budget.
“The cool thing about this $100,000 was they allowed each employee to nominate a charity of their choice for an opportunity to be selected for one of the $10,000 grants,” said JJ Murphy, Intermountain Gas Company district manager. “I selected The Pocatello Free Clinic because of the awesome work that they do in our community and the impact it has. Out of almost 300 other charities nominated, Pocatello Free Clinic was selected. MDUR was founded on the value of ‘when communities thrive, we thrive,’ and I am very proud to work for a company that does so much for the communities that its employees live and work in."
The other nine charities receiving $10,000 grants from the MDU Resources’ Foundation include:

— Inspiring Minds, Bismarck.
— Lake Region Corporation, Devils Lake.
— Western North Dakota Honor Flight, Bismarck.
Montana:
— Glendive Community Cancer Fund, Glendive.
— Montana Supporting Military, Helena.
— Mount Olive Lutheran School, Billings.
Washington:
— Kitsap Humane Society, Silverdale.
Wyoming:
— Polestar Outdoors, Cody.
