BLACKFOOT — The City is asking for the public’s help regarding a recent act of vandalism involving a sewer manhole located on Hill View Drive, just off E. Walker Street.
Someone intentionally broke the manhole lid and filled the opening with sand, which caused blockages in the sewer line. As a result, homes in that area experienced sewage draining issues and backups, leading to costly repairs and hardship for our residents.
If you saw anything suspicious in this area around Friday, January 24th-Monday, January 26th or have any information about who may be responsible, please contact the Blackfoot Police Department. Even small details can make a big difference!
The Blackfoot Police Department will be canvasing the area asking for any Ring Doorbell videos that could have caught any activity.
To the individual or individuals responsible for this recent act of sabotage (this can be considered an act of Domestic Terrorism and prosecuted under Federal law), we encourage you to reach out to City Hall so we can discuss any concerns you may have about the City operations directly. Constructive conversations help us improve our community, while vandalism only harms the very neighborhoods we all care about.
Let’s work together to keep our neighborhoods safe. Please stay alert, report suspicious activity, and help us eliminate vandalism in our community.
Concerns about our community can be shared by calling City Hall directly, 208-785-8600, or report the problem on our website under the “Report a Concern” tab. Link: https://www.cityofblackfoot.org/.../City.../Fix-It-Form-56
