POCATELLO — The 19th renewal of the Justin Hebblethwaite Memorial golf scramble may be one for the record books. Junior Wayas, in the Second Flight, and Brent Chase, in the Third, each scored holes in one on the 140-yard 11th hole Saturday at Riverside.

    No one could remember a similar feat.

    It’s also possible that a best-ball team below the Championship Flight could win the tournament. With Sunday’s round remaining to be played, brothers Colton and Quinn Carbol are in the lead with a 10-under-par 62 Saturday.

    Lytle Denny and Nate Smith are a stroke behind at 63.

    But since players in the Championship and First flights hit from the same tees, the winner could come from the First. Right now, the leaders in that flight are Jacob Barron and Kelly Harris at 63.

    “The trophy would go to the low team in the Championship Flight,” Pro Charles Clinton said. “But it’s possible the tournament winners could be in a lower flight.”

    With just six twosomes in the Championship Flight, Matt Kunze and Randy Watson are in third place at 64, Brian Atkinson and Brock Buffat are tied with Steve Ferger and Lee Hebblethwaite in fourth place at 66, and Carl Stroschein and Alec Johnson are standing sixth at 71.

    In the First Flight, Ryan and Ty Pearson are second at 64, with Pat Bystrom and Keith Johnson at 65. Chris Casias and Chase Faler lead the Second Flight at 63, Don Schroeder and Duke Tauscher lead the Third Flight at 64, and Irv and Sam Patterson are atop the Fourth Flight with a net 58.
