If you’ve ever wanted to meet and be instructed by members of the Idaho State volleyball team, now is your chance.
Breanne Van Every, Lori Mendenhall, Kylee Searle and the rest of the Bengals are hosting a three-day individual skills camp at Reed Gym from July 30 to Aug. 1 for girls in grades six-12. The event will run each day from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the exception of Wednesday, Aug. 1 when it will finish at 4:30 p.m.
There are six options from which campers can choose in regards to meals and overnight preferences. Option A includes instruction only (no meals or staying overnight in the dorms) with a registration fee of $199. Option B will give you instruction, meals and a three-night stay for $309. Option C is for two nights and costs $289 while option D is for commuters (no overnight stays) and a full meal plan for $249. Option E is for commuters with a partial meal plan (lunch everyday with dinner on day one and two) for $239. Finally, option F gives you lunches only for $219.
Since online registration ended July 28, there is a $25 charge for signing up in person.
The camp fee includes quality volleyball instruction and a T-shirt.
Campers are expected to bring indoor volleyball shoes, kneepads and overnight participants are to bring a towel and toiletries as well.
“We employ a system that is backed by years of successful coaching and the scientific study of teaching volleyball,” ISU’s camp website says. “Athletes will be trained in fundamental skills in a variety of motivating, competitive game-like drills proven to build strong volleyball players. Players must come to this camp prepared to work and improve.”
The final day of the camp will include an all-star game and camp awards from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
