A pair of Idaho representatives occupy 10th place in the reined cow horse average at the National High School Finals Rodeo in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
Rexburg’s Breanna Jenkins and Meridian’s Nolan Hansen are tied with an average score of 573 through two rounds. Jenkins won this year’s all-around cowgirl state title.
Montpelier’s Paige Bennett improved to 20th place in the barrel racing average. Bennett’s second-go time of 17.787 seconds was good enough for eighth-best in Thursday’s evening performance and increased Bennett’s average score to 36.009 — just ahead of Menan’s Ryland Lufkin in 22nd (36.055).
Oakley’s Aubryn Bedke leads the second go-round in breakaway roping after winning Thursday’s morning performance in 2.3 seconds. She’s currently 30th in the average.
Newdale’s Abby Ricks is 18th in the average in pole bending. Her Thursday morning ride in 20.679 seconds was good for eighth-best of the performance.
Fruitland’s Cole Eiguren has the second-best score in the second go-round of steer wrestling after clocking a 5.08 during Thursday’s morning performance.
District 9 cowboy Payt Goodey finished eighth in trap shooting with 96 points.
