Soda Springs’ Sadie Gronning was named the 2A District 5 girls basketball player of the year after leading her team to a 26-1 record and a 2A state championship. The league’s all-conference girls basketball teams were voted on by the league’s coaches and released Thursday.
Gronning, a sophomore, was joined on the first team by teammates Reagan Yamauchi and Kaycee Smith. Malad’s Shawnee Simpson and Bear Lake’s Matti Critchlow rounded out the first-team honorees.
The second team featured Malad’s Britlynn Hubbard, Bear Lake’s Ember Casperson, West Side’s Mauri Wade and Soda Springs’ Jorianne Balls and Kathryne McCullough.
