BEAR LAKE 52, DECLO 44
Bear Lake beat Declo 52-44 on Friday in the 2A state tournament semifinals at Capital High School. The Bears advance to the 2A state title game, where they aim to defend their state championship Saturday at 1:40 p.m. at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa.
Hayden Peterson led Bear Lake with 13 points, while Trey Shaul had 12 points and Avery Carlsen added 11 points. Shaul and Peterson also had four steals apiece, and Peterson pulled down a team-high nine rebounds.
Friday's game was tied 12-12 after the first quarter, but Bear Lake outscored Declo 19-9 in the second frame to build a 31-21 halftime lead. The Bears withstood a late Hornets rally by swiping 12 steals and making 9 of 15 second-half free throws.
"We had every chance to put it away, but (Declo) fought back," Bear Lake coach Brandon Carlsen said. "Defensively, when it counted we stepped up and made enough plays to win."
The Bears (23-3) play Ririe (22-3) for the state title in a rematch of last year's championship game, which the Bears won 56-39. The teams split their two regular-season meetings, with Ririe winning 69-57 and Bear Lake winning 64-43.
ABERDEEN 48, NAMPA CHRISTIAN 40

Aberdeen kept its season alive with a 48-40 win Friday against Nampa Christian in the consolation bracket of the 2A state tournament at Capital High School.
The Tigers led 16-14 at halftime and clung to a 27-26 advantage after three quarters. Aberdeen sealed the win by outscoring the Trojans 21-14 in the fourth frame.
Dallon Elliott led the Tigers with a team-high 19 points to go with eight rebounds. Jaxson Wahlen chipped in 13 points and eight boards.
Neither team shot better than 24.6 percent from the field.
"We got some good looks at the basket, but they weren't going in," Aberdeen coach Joe Ingersoll said.
Aberdeen (15-12) plays Cole Valley Christian (16-8) for the consolation championship Saturday at 9:15 a.m.
"We want a trophy," Ingersoll said. "We want to come home with a trophy. We still have a chance to do that."
1A DI state tournament
LAPWAI 69, GRACE 66
Grace couldn't hold its first-half lead in Friday's 69-66 loss to Lapwai in the semifinals of the 1A DI state tournament at Vallivue High School.
The Grizzlies led 33-24 at halftime, but were outscored 28-12 in the third quarter. Grace rallied in the final frame, but missed key free throws down the stretch and couldn't mount the comeback.
Lapwai went 8 of 16 from 3-point range and 17 of 28 from the free-throw line. Grace was 11 for 13 from the stripe, but both misses came with a two-point deficit late in the fourth quarter.
Grace's Paycen Jensen poured in a game-high 32 points to go with six rebounds. Lapwai's Emmit Taylor III scored 26 points on 10-of-17 shooting.
The Grizzlies (17-7) play Ambrose (18-8) at 9:15 a.m. Saturday for their second third-place trophy in as many years.
1A DII state tournament
DEARY 52, ROCKLAND 50 (OT)
Rockland fell 52-50 in overtime Friday to Deary in a loser-out game of the 1A DII state tournament at Rocky Mountain High School.
The Bulldogs led by one point at the end of the first, second and third quarters.
Rockland senior Spencer Permann tallied 16 points and eight rebounds in his final prep game. Kaden Woodworth added 10 points.
Rockland finished the season 15-9.
