The Idaho High School Activities Association announced Friday the hiring of Mike Federico as Assistant Director. Federico is the athletic director at Twin Falls High School and will begin working at the IHSAA in July 1.

For the past 30 years, Federico has been a teacher, coach, and athletic administrator.

In 2000, Federico became a teacher and coach at his alma mater, Twin Falls High School, and was named athletic director in 2007. He has managed state tournaments as well as play-in games for numerous IHSAA activities.

Active in several professional organizations including the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA), the Idaho Athletic Administrators Association (IAAA), along with numerous positions within District 4, Federico has been recognized for his dedicated service to the student-athletes in Idaho. In 2012, he was named the 4A Athletic Director of the Year in addition to receiving a National Award of Merit from the NIAAA. Mike has also been recognized by the IHSAA with the Dick Fleishman Memorial Award.
