BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A semi tractor-trailer hauling frozen potatoes caught fire east of Boise, destroying the trailer.

Boise firefighters tell KTVB-TV (http://bit.ly/TLyCU0) that the truck's driver pulled into the East Boise Port of Entry Wednesday morning and then heard a loud "pop" from under his vehicle.

Fire Captain Shane Lowe says the noise was likely the truck's axle breaking. He says the damage may have sparked the flames that destroyed the trailer and its load of frozen potatoes.

Three people inside a nearby weigh station were evacuated due to the fire, which also set fire to shrubbery and nearby signs. No one was injured.
