POCATELLO — Shantay Bloxham, a familiar face in the local nonprofit sector, is the new CEO of the United Way of Southeastern Idaho.

The organization said she will take over the role on June 6.

“I could not be more excited and grateful to accept the position as CEO of United Way of Southeastern Idaho — a well-established and well-loved organization that is composed of a highly competent, capable, total powerhouse team,” Bloxham said in a news release.

Bloxham has more than a decade of experience working at Southeastern Idaho Community Action Agency, which provides services to low-income, disabled and elderly residents in Southeast Idaho. She most recently served as SEICAA’s CEO.

“We are all so excited to be welcoming Shantay to the United Way of Southeastern Idaho organization,” said Kirby Shepherd, president of the United Way of Southeastern Idaho’s Board of Directors. “We believe with her experience and our strong staff at United Way, they will continue to be a cornerstone organization for Southeastern Idaho families.”

Bloxham is replacing Kevin Bailey, who resigned in June 2021 to become CEO of the Idaho Nonprofit Center.

The United Way’s mission is to serve Southeast Idaho’s ALICE population — families and individuals who are asset-limited, income-constrained and employed — and Bloxham said she is looking forward to continuing to help improve outcomes for people.

“I am thrilled to join an organization that is so uniquely well-positioned to provide innovative solutions that improve outcomes for children, families and individuals in need throughout Southeast Idaho,” Bloxham said. “I am certainly looking forward to building on decades of achievements with a clear and collective ambition to change the future for ALICE.”

Bloxham’s hiring was announced at the United Way of Southeastern Idaho’s recent Awards Lunch, during which they celebrated raising more than $430,000 over the last year thanks to regional workplace campaigns and individual donations. Every dollar raised has been redirected back into local nonprofits with programs helping families in need across Southeast Idaho.
