POCATELLO — Southeast Idaho Days returns this weekend at the Bannock County Event Center in Pocatello for the second year in a row.

Nikki Jorgenson runs the event with her husband, Frank, and over the years has put on themed events and fall festivals for the public. They are also the owners of Snake River Doodle’s (SRD’s) Wild Reptile Adventure in downtown Pocatello.

“We’ve taken all of the most fun (from) all of the festivals we’ve thrown over the years and we’ve put them together into these two days so that we can really celebrate all the fun and awesome things about Southeast Idaho,” Jorgenson said.

Friday is dedicated to “Redneck Games.” Beard, mustache and mullet contests, a free potato bar for the first 50 people, food trucks, face painting and more will all be available from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Free entry kid contests, a parade, bike show, talent show, watermelon eating contests and more will be taking place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Performances will also be available to watch on Saturday. The Snake River New Horizons band will have a free performance at 11 a.m., Chuck G The Irish Magic Guy will have a show at 3 p.m. and an acrobat performance put on by River and Maya is set for 3:30 p.m.

The festival is free entry for all, but the inflatable carnival, train rides, mechanical bull and petting zoo will have fees in order to participate.

“I just wanted somewhere that families and kids can all come out together and enjoy a couple of days of just having a good time and being together,” Jorgenson said.
