PARIS - Bear Lake County Commissioners approved the preliminary plat and master plan applications for Black Bear Resort, a proposed four-season resort in the hills south of Bloomington, in a special meeting Wednesday afternoon.

The 2-1 decision followed a presentation two weeks ago from the Bear Lake Planning and Zoning Commission, which recommended approval of the resort's plans with several stipulations, includingthat the resort developers contribute to the county emergency resources and affordable housing, further study the project's wildlife impact and assure that water mitigation plans be in place for the entire project.
