POCATELLO — Authorities arrested a 49-year-old Pocatello man on Thursday night after he allegedly tried to stab an individual with a spear.

Pocatello police say they arrested Wallace S. Bad Hawk, Jr., for aggravated assault.

The incident reportedly began when the victim brought some cookies to a person at a residence on the 100 block of North Grant, police said. Bad Hawk came out of a bedroom and exchanged words with the victim.

The victim indicated that they should go outside to settle their differences, police said. That’s when Bad Hawk allegedly grabbed a spear and started trying to stab the victim, police said.

The victim was able to hold the door, which sustained stab marks, between him and Bad Hawk, police said. An officer drove through the area at that time and the victim ran to the officer for help.

The victim was not injured in the incident, police said.

As of Friday morning, Bad Hawk was still being held at the Bannock County Jail.
