POCATELLO — Police are still searching for two men who robbed a local credit union on Thursday evening.

The robbery at the Mountain America Credit Union on the 1000 block of Yellowstone Avenue occurred around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, police said.

Late Thursday night, officers located the getaway car, a silver Chrysler 200 sedan, in Idaho Falls, said police, adding that it was impounded on Friday and searched once officers obtained a warrant.

After searching the vehicle, officers were able to identify the suspected driver of the getaway car, however, police are not releasing his name at this time. Officers are still attempting to identify the man who entered and robbed the credit union, police said.

The robbery occurred when one of the suspects entered the credit union and demanded money from a teller. After leaving the credit union with the stolen cash, the suspect ran in a northerly direction and entered the passenger side of the Chrysler 200, police said.

Police released a security camera image of the two suspects, both white men, walking out of the nearby Winco Foods supermarket prior to the robbery.

Police said the suspect, who currently remains unidentified, that entered the credit union appears to be between the ages of 23 and 30 and is 6 feet tall, weighs approximately 150 pounds and has neck tattoos. He was wearing a cream colored or white beanie, dark sunglasses, a dark undershirt, dark flannel coat, dark gloves and blue jeans at the time of the robbery.

The amount of money that was stolen from the credit union also hasn’t been released.

Police have released additional security camera photos of the suspect who entered the credit union as well as the getaway vehicle.

Police said that neither suspect was observed to have any sort of weapon. There were no injuries as a result of the incident.

Still police are advising the public to not approach the suspects under any circumstances.
