POCATELLO — Firefighters extinguished a fire at a manufacturing facility off Highway 30 early Sunday morning on the city's west side.

The building's fire alarm detected the smoke and alerted the Fire Department that the blaze had ignited around 1:10 a.m.

The building, located on West Alameda Road near Highway 30, is used to manufacture battery packs for drones and other devices and was closed and unoccupied when the fire occurred, the Fire Department reported.

The Fire Department responded to the fire and quickly extinguished the flames.

There were no injuries.

The Fire Department said the fire was accidental and occurred when a battery inside the building ignited.

There was fire damage to the area where the battery was being stored but firefighters believe the building is definitely salvageable. 

Firefighters remained on the scene for about three hours.

Pocatello police also responded to the incident.
