Giovanni Marcello Mendiola

Idaho Falls Police arrested Idaho Falls Community Work Center Inmate Giovanni Marcello Mendiola on Sunday for having an illegal cell phone at the facility.

Mendiola, 41, was booked into the Bonneville County Jail on a felony charge of introduction of contraband into a correctional facility.

According to reports, officers were dispatched to the facility, located in the 3900 block of Bombardier, in reference to an inmate having an illegal cell phone.

The cell phone was found in Mendiola’s possession during a random urine test.
