IDAHO FALLS — The Bonneville County Republican Central Committee is recommending three people for the county’s coroner post that is being vacated by Jonathan Walker, who is resigning on Nov. 15.
The committee held a special meeting on Wednesday to determine who to recommend for the post. They choose: Rick Taylor, a retired firefighter currently serving as the deputy coroner; Michael Colson, an investigator at the Idaho National Laboratory; and Joseph Anderson, an emergency room physician and the chief medical officer at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
“The Central Committee had six excellent Republican candidates who presented themselves,” said Bryan Smith, first vice chairman. “We are excited to pass along our recommendations.”
Smith said they submitted the names to the Bonneville County Commissioners on Wednesday, and the board now has 15 days to make a decision.
