Bannock County sheriff’s deputies and Fort Hall police responded to a crash on Tuesday that resulted in a felony arrest.
The incident occurred on Reservation Road.
Officers were dispatched to the area after being notified of a vehicle that had run off the road and through a fence on private property, according to sheriff’s officials. Reports also indicated that the vehicle was trying to leave the area and drinks were being thrown from the vehicle.
Following an investigation, sheriff’s officials say the driver of the vehicle, California resident Shawnie Sammaripa, was taken into custody for driving under the influence and causing malicious injury to property, both felonies. In addition, she allegedly hadn’t purchased a driver’s license, which is an infraction.
