A Blackfoot man who enticed a 14-year-old girl through the internet and videotaped her to produce child pornography has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Andrew Ray Young, 35, was charged in federal court after a Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office detective found several messages between him and the victim after obtaining a search warrant for Young’s electronic devices.
The detective first learned that Young was having inappropriate conversations with the teenager in December 2020. During a search of Young’s devices, the Internet Crimes Against Children task force found 38 sexually explicit photos and videos of the teenage victim that were produced by Young.
A news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office of Idaho states the victim testified in court that Young made her participate in the production after they met online.
In addition to time in federal prison, Young will have to spend 25 years on probation. He will be required to register as a sex offender.
