Winter storm snowstorm snow East Idaho stock image file photo

At 8:47 PM Saturday, an area of moderate to heavy snow was impacting Southeastern Idaho, particularly summits located along portions of Highways 30 and 34.

Locations impacted include Preston, Soda Springs, Montpelier, Fish Creek Summit, Georgetown Summit, Treasureton Summit and Border Summit.

Visibilities are below one mile in this area of moderate to heavy snow, but have been dropping to near zero at times.

If you are driving, be prepared for hazardous conditions at times and slow down and be on alert for other motorists.

Low visibility shortens the amount of time you have to react to situations.

Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time when traveling.
