I understand that there are complaints about municipal band concerts moving to the new Lookout Point park in Old Town. I think some residents need a bit of a reality check. I am presently in a small city in northern Israel. I live on a hillside, between a hotel and a high school, and about a half-mile from a small lake that has a band shell where the hills act like an amplifier. Happy noises from weddings, high school functions, and public concerts are part of living in a community. We are at war where I live, and we badly miss the happy sounds. Instead, this year we have echoes of artillery, sirens, and the sound of rockets blasted apart in the sky. Pocatellans, be glad that you live in peace. Rejoice in your neighbors' joys. If concert noise interrupts your TV show, turn off the tube and join the party. Gratitude is an excellent trait, sounds like some Pocatellans need to practice it.
