FORT HALL — For the third time in about a month the Fort Hall Fire Department is investigating a suspicious fire.

The most recent blaze, reported around 10 a.m. Tuesday, involved a home on Cemetery Road, according to a news release from the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes.

Firefighters arrived on scene and discovered flames coming from the front and left side of the home, the tribes said. 

The fire was contained to one bedroom and part of the hallway, though there was smoke damage throughout the home.

“The Fort Hall Fire Department managed to knock down the fire within 15 minutes of the first unit arriving,” said Fort Hall Fire Chief Eric King.

The North Bannock Fire Department assisted in battling the blaze.

All fire units cleared the scene at approximately 1 p.m. Tuesday. 

Nobody was injured as a result of the fire but authorities are investigating the blaze as suspicious.

The blaze on Cemetery Road follows two other suspicious fires in Fort Hall last month — one involving a residential home on Sage Road on July 23 and another involving an RV on Diggie Road on July 24.

King told the Idaho State Journal on Thursday that all three suspicious fires remain under investigation and anyone with any information about the blazes is encouraged to contact the Fort Hall Fire Department at 208-478-3784.
