Junior Achievement of Idaho is looking for volunteers to teach their financial literacy programs to local schools. Programs typically consist of five 45-minute lessons using a schedule that the volunteer and teacher agree on. Junior Achievement provides training and all the needed materials to volunteers. There are classes available at these elementary schools in Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25: Wilcox, Gate City, Lewis and Clark, Ellis and Tyhee. Bright Tomorrows Child Advocacy Center is in search of donations for the following items: Easy Mac-n-Cheese, trail mix in single packets, microwave popcorn, candy, and pastel paper. Donations can be brought to 409 Washington Ave. in Pocatello.

The Senior Activity Center in Pocatello accepting donations of the following items: a corkboard, a vacuum, three small desks with drawers, a partition and Clorox wipes. Donations can be brought to 427 N. Sixth Ave. in Pocatello.

Aid For Friends is in need children’s socks and underwear in all sizes for both girls and boys, toilet paper, paper towels, disposable diapers and hygiene items for both men and women. Donations can be brought to 653 S. Fourth Ave. in Pocatello.

The 6th District CASA program is in need of volunteers to offer community advocacy for abused and neglected children. This volunteer opportunity provides a voice to children that fall under the Idaho Child Protective Act. A Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) would receive the training necessary to competently offer recommendations for the court that the judge would use along with other information to make informed decisions and create better outcomes for abused and neglected children. Visit Pocatello is looking for volunteers to staff the Pocatello Visitor Center throughout the summer. They are seeking people who can be at the Visitor Center for a three-hour shift once a week any time between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. If you enjoy visiting with people from all over the world, have a little general knowledge about the area and like to help people, then this is a great fit for you. The Area V Agency on Aging is in need of assistive medical equipment that you no longer need — items such as but not limited to walkers, wheelchairs, scooters, canes, crutches, shower chairs or other adaptive equipment.
