POCATELLO — Riveting rodeo action continues at the Bannock County Event Center, just in time for the concert season at the Port to begin. Plus, don’t miss the open house at the Port on Saturday.
— MJ Qualifier — Today:
Watch as youth cowboys and cowgirls compete to qualify for the 2024 Vegas Tuffest Jr. World Championship. The MJ Qualifier event will begin at 9 a.m. today and run throughout the day. Events include breakaway roping, tie-down roping, goat tying, team roping and barrel racing. Held at the Upper Arena and Grandstands at the Bannock County Event Center, there is no cost for admission.
— High school state rodeo — Saturday to June 15:
Idaho’s best compete for the title at the Bannock County Event Center in the 2024 Idaho High School Rodeo Association’s state finals. For more information, visit https://ihsraidaho.com/dates.
— Open house at The Port — Saturday:
Come to the open house at The Port. You can tour the Portneuf Health Trust Amphitheatre and learn more about the venue. Staff will be there to answer questions. Bring the family to enjoy fishing, high school rodeo and food trucks while you’re there. The open house begins at 11 a.m. and continues until 2 p.m. Saturday. Enter via the west entrance of the venue.
— Free Fishing Day — Saturday:
The annual Free Fishing Day is Saturday. Bring the kids to the Portneuf Wellness Complex’s Bannock Reservoir to catch some rainbow trout. — Pinky and the Floyd — June 14:
Don’t miss your chance to see one of the most dynamic tribute bands playing homage to the legendary Pink Floyd, performing at the Portneuf Health Trust Amphitheatre on June 14. For its first appearance in Pocatello, Pinky and the Floyd will perform Pink Floyd favorites from the albums “The Division Bell” and “The Dark Side of the Moon.” Tickets are available now at https://bannockcountyeventcenter.us/.
— Donor Connect’s Gift of Life Walk/Run — June 15:
Show your support for organ donors by participating in Donor Connect’s annual Gift of Life Walk/Run on June 15 at the Portneuf Wellness Complex. You can register for the race until June 13 at 3 p.m. online at raceentry.com/gift-of-life-walkrun-pocatello/race-information. There is a 2k route and a 5k route. Races begin at 9 a.m. Saturday.
— BCRA Barrel Racing — June 17:
The Bannock County Rodeo Association is hosting barrel racing on Monday night at the Bannock County Event Center’s indoor arena.
