POCATELLO – On Sunday, Pocatello Unitarian Universalist Fellowship welcomes guest speaker Collete Hoglund to the pulpit. This event will be held 9:30 a.m. Sunday at 426 W. Lewis in Pocatello.
Collete has lived in Twin Falls for about 25 years. She is active in the Magic Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and plays piano for services and is on the aesthetics committee. Collete retired five years ago from a career as a clinical psychologist. She has a new great-nephew in Sequim, Washington, where her sister and niece’s family live. Collete enjoys traveling and recently returned from a trip to Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands. She has recreational and artistic interests such as hiking, cycling, weight lifting, drawing and watercolor painting.
Collete’s topic for Sunday’s gathering is “Living Abundantly: Explorations of Minimalism.” She describes minimalism as focusing on what is important in your life and intentionally removing everything else. It is letting go of what no longer adds value to your life. Minimalism is much more than decluttering closets or having sparse living areas. This talk will explore different approaches to minimalism and address the many benefits.
The public is warmly invited to join the Pocatello Unitarian Universalist Fellowship for this presentation and discussion on minimalism. How might minimalism reflect personal and shared values? UU gathers every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Attend in person online via Zoom at tinyurl.com/9ffruny8.
Unitarian Universalism is a faith of many paths, without doctrine, meaning that throughout its congregations are people who believe in a higher power, are agnostic or nontheist humanists. What brings members together is the belief that this life is better when people come together in mutual respect, building community that is inclusive and grounded in shared values. Visit us on Facebook or explore Pocatello UU’s website, pocatellouu.org. In addition to Sunday gatherings, most of its programs are available both in person and online via Zoom.
