Saturday, Jan. 10: Second Saturday Contra Dance in Pocatello:
The Pocatello Second Saturday Contra Dance is scheduled to be held from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Assemble’ Learning and Event Center, 820 E. Young St.
Attendees are invited to the 7 p.m. instructional session to learn basic moves, brush up on contra dance technique and assist any newcomers.
Bring soft-soled shoes to change into. Attendees may bring a snack to share if they wish.
Luann Claussen will teach and call the dances, and Idaho Rovers will provide lively music.
Tickets are $10 per individual, with discounts available.
Lava Meltdown Contra Dance Weekend
The Lava Meltdown will be held from Feb. 27 to March 1 in Lava Hot Springs.
Christine Merriman will be calling to the famed music of Drive Train.
Early bird pricing is still going on through the end of January. Tickets are $150 for adults, $75 for youth and $25 for children. Some meals are provided.

Mind Your Body, 234 S. Main St. in Pocatello, has ballroom classes every Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m., taught by Lori Head, focusing on a different dance style every week.

Students with a card get in for $5, and everyone else gets in for $6.
