n The community is invited to get their first look at what the future may hold for Terry Street and South First Avenue. On Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. there will be a Terry First Build a Better Block event, during which a series of temporary improvements to the neighborhood will be debuted. Some of the ideas that will be tested include pop-up shops, parklets, a stage with seating, landscaping and public art. n “Solo: A Star Wars Story” shows today at 7 p.m., Friday at 7 and 11 p.m. and Saturday at 7 and 9:45 p.m. in the Bengal Theater at the ISU Pond Student Union, telling the story about Han Solo’s early days. n Five Idaho State University alumni will collaborate in a benefit recital on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Goranson Hall in the Fine Arts Building. The program features art and folksongs. n The Madison County community of Sugar City will host Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter’s 104th Capital for a Day on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sugar-Salem High School, 1 Digger Drive. The meeting provides local residents an opportunity to have open discussions about government issues and public policy with Otter, members of his cabinet and other senior state officials. A first-come, first-served lunch will be provided from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. in the school cafeteria.

n The David Price Agency of Farmers Insurance will host its seventh annual Corn Dayz event Friday at 10 a.m. The agency will be giving away free corn from the owner’s very own corn field this year. SafeLite AutoGlass and Paul Davis Restoration will have booths at this event. Safelite will be doing free windshield repairs for people who have full coverage on their insurance and charging $29.99 for repairs for people who just carry liability. Free lunch, games and a bounce house will also be available for attendees. n Vince Neil, the frontman for Mötley Crüe, will headline the inaugural Idaho Rockfest at Melaleuca Field in Idaho Falls. The two-day rock festival, which will be held Friday and Saturday, will feature performances from Neil and a variety of other bands and performers, including RATT, Dokken, Warrant, Sebastian Bach, Great White and Lynch Mob.
