n “Avengers: Infinity War” is the movie today and Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Bengal Theater, in the first part of a story where Thanos brings his legions of doom to the Earth and the Avengers and friends seek to thwart his efforts. (Rated PG-13) Admission is $3 for the public, $2 for ISU staff, or free for ISU students with Bengal ID.

n To connect families with resources in our community, Southeastern Idaho Public Health will be holding its second annual Community Resource Fair at their Pocatello facility, 1901 Alvin Ricken Drive, on Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. This free event is open to the community and will provide light refreshments, children activities and raffle prizes. n The Board of Commissioners of the Pocatello Development Authority will hold a special meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Paradice Conference Room at Pocatello City Hall to discuss Hoku property matters.

n OrthoIdaho, Pocatello’s leading orthopedic and sports medicine institute, will be holding a free seminar on joint pain and total join replacement surgery on Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 2240 E. Center St. in Pocatello. Matt McKinlay will be presenting. Light refreshments and food will be served.

n National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI SI) support group meets every Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Life Inc., 640 Pershing Ave. Family, friends and those in recovery dealing with mental illness are encouraged to come.

n Mental Health Specialists provides a community Suicide Survivor Support Group. This is facilitated by a counselor, who has worked extensively with individuals who have survived the suicide of a loved one. The group meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 6 p.m. If you feel like this is something that might benefit you, please call Mental Health Specialists at 208-238-9000 and ask for Garren Aubrey. He will talk to you about the benefits of the group and assist you in understanding what you might expect from group. This needs to be done before you attend group for the first time.

n Pocatello Yoga will host free yoga in the park on Aug. 22 at 6 p.m. at Bonneville Community Park at the corner of North Seventh Avenue and East Fremont Street in Pocatello. Bring a yoga mat, blanket or towel to practice on and water.

n Terry First Steering Committee: Volunteer Days will meet at 10 a.m. on Carter Street and First Avenue in Pocatello.

n Animal Shelter Advisory Board meeting will be at noon at the Pocatello Animal Shelter.

n On Wednesday, the Clark for Treasurer campaign will be having a “BBQ and Live Music Fundraiser” event from 6 to 9 p.m. at OK Ward Park in Pocatello. Enjoy a wonderful summer evening featuring delicious pulled pork sandwiches with live music provided by the band Rough Stock. This is a great way to meet Jennifer Clark and to learn more about her campaign to become the next Bannock County Treasurer. n Connections Credit Union, 1873 Bench Road in Pocatello, is hosting an AARP Smart Driver course Wednesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 pm. both days. The class is open to all. Registration is $20 for non-members and $15 for AARP members. Once completed, the certificate can be used for discounts on auto insurance and points off. Wednesday-Saturday

n The community is invited to get their first look at what the future may hold for Terry Street and South First Avenue. On Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. there will be a Terry First Build a Better Block event during which a series of temporary improvements to the neighborhood will be debuted. There will be food, beverages and activities making use of the spaces, giving people a sense of how an updated streetscape could function. Some of the ideas that will be tested include pop-up shops, parklets, a stage with seating, landscaping, and public art. Volunteers are still needed to help build, paint, and craft the temporary improvements between Wednesday and Saturday. To sign-up as a volunteer, visit terryfirst.com. The Terry First project aims to create a vision for the Terry Street/South First Avenue corridor that will spur economic development, support redevelopment, increase bicycle and pedestrian mobility, and improve the connection between Idaho State University and Old Town Pocatello.
