POCATELLO — “The Avifauna (Birds) of New Zealand” by Paul Allen will be the presentation at the Portneuf Valley Audubon Society’s meeting at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Marshall Public Library Community Room.

Avifauna is defined as “the birds of a particular region, habitat, or geological period,” and in this case Paul Allen will be talking about them in New Zealand, and be providing slides of some of his sights.

On Oct. 20, the PVAS fieldtrip is to the American Falls Trout Farm Trails to clear the trails and fill the birdfeeders. Participants are asked to bring gloves and clearing tools. Participants will look for birds along the trial, too, and will be home by about noon.

To carpool for the fieldtrip, meet at 9 a.m. at the lower ISU campus parking lot by the bison sculpture behind the Idaho Museum of Natural History, near 5th and Dillon.
