    Oct. 9, 1987: Noel Blomely brought his homeland of Australia to life for kindergarten students at the ISU Early Learning Center. A high school math teacher from Sydney, he had the audience hopping with his imitation of a kangaroo.    

    50 years ago

    Oct. 9, 1962: Mrs. Agusta Becker from Schweinfurt, Germany, is visiting in Pocatello, with her daughter, Mrs. T.A. Pharris, and grandson, Bill Pharris. They are houseguests of Caroline Hukull.    

    100 years ago

    Oct. 9, 1912: Justice of the Peace Alf Moyes has been confined to his home for the past 10 days with a bad attack of rheumatism. He was in and out again from his office for the first time since the attack.
