POCATELLO — Pocatello Regional Airport has been recognized as one of the most reliable airports in the country, according to a new AirAdvisor report.
The report analyzed arrival delays of three hours or more across American airports to identify where disruptions occur most and least frequently, according to a news release from AirAdvisor.
Pocatello Regional Airport was among several smaller airports nationwide that reported zero three-hour delays during the 2025 study period. Other top performers were Walla Walla Regional Airport in Washington, Hilo International Airport in Hawaii, Syracuse Hancock International Airport in New York and Sitka Rocky Gutierrez Airport in Alaska.
“At a time when travel delays are impacting communities across the country, it’s great to see Pocatello Regional Airport stand out for its reliability,” said Pocatello Mayor Mark Dahlquist. “This is something our residents and visitors can truly count on, and it plays an important role in supporting economic development and growth in our region.”
The three least reliable airports in the nation were Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Jacksonville International Airport.
Alan Evans, manager of Pocatello Regional Airport, said he was excited to learn the airport had been named one of the most reliable in the country.
“That’s great news for Pocatello,” Evans said. “It’s great for our airport. We try to be service-minded and help make things as pleasant as possible.”
Evans said the airport’s reliability stems in part from having only one daily flight until a second route launches in May. He said lower traffic volume also plays a role compared to larger airports.
“We have a fantastic TSA staff,” Evans said. “They take their jobs seriously. They’re very committed to making sure it’s a positive experience.”
Evans praised his staff for continuing to work despite a government shutdown that has left them without pay.
“They’ve seen this a couple of times,” Evans said. “We’re asking the community to help where they can.”
Evans encouraged local residents to consider Pocatello Regional Airport for their travel needs, noting it offers free coffee to departing passengers and competitively priced fares.
“It’s the best airport in the country,” Evans said.
