CHUBBUCK — A local couple has opened a new photography studio and event center in Chubbuck.  

Sydney Hancock owns the Silver and Sage Studio with her husband, Caden. The new business is located at 146 E. Chubbuck Road near Idaho Coffee Company and aims to offer a professional space for local photographers with different thematic environments each month.

"We are a photography studio and we rent out to local photographers hoping to take new pictures," Hancock said. "We have creative cubbies that we switch out every month for videos and photos."

The Silver and Sage Studio also serves as an event venue for anyone celebrating a special occasion whether that be a birthday, bridal shower or corporate event.

"We just had our open house a few weeks ago," Hancock said. "We had six vendors, and everyone was able to come in and hang out with the vendors."

The studio can also be rented out for anyone who wants to teach a class. Some of the classes the Hancocks already have planned include fitness, yoga, T-shirt pressings and various Mommy and Me classes.

"I also have my own small business," Hancock said. "I'm a photographer, social media manager and digital marketer. I will be hosting classes to help small business owners gather and expand their reach."

Hancock wanted to open this studio to give local photographers and other small business owners a space to exercise their creativity. 

"We have awesome photography here in Pocatello," Hancock said. "Something we really lack is a variety of backdrops, color ranges and fun things to open up creativity."

Hancock said people have already started to show interest in the Silver and Sage Studio. The couple has already hosted a few events, and people are even traveling from out of town to check out their services.

"We're getting new props and backdrops so we can build it up," Hancock said. "We've had people come from Idaho Falls. It's really getting some pickup from creatives."

Hancock looks forward to all the different classes that will be offered at the Silver and Sage Studio, particularly the Mommy and Me classes for parents with young children.

"I'm also a stay at home mom," Hancock said. "It's important to offer classes for moms."

Hancock also looks forward to helping small business owners get in touch with each other so they can network and expand their businesses. This studio will be a great way to bring the community together.

"Being able to bring the community together and offer a new space to let creativity run wild is awesome," Hancock said. "Some want to do movie nights or craft nights. There are things I think would be so fun to have."

Pricing for the photography studio at Silver and Sage Studio ranges from hourly rentals at $70 per hour, half day rentals at $400 and full day rentals at $800. Pricing for the event venue ranges from hourly rentals at $60 per hour to $350 for a half day.
