POCATELLO — Glacier Bancorp Inc., the holding company for Citizens Community Bank, recently signed an agreement acquire Bank of Idaho Holding Company, which is the holding company of the Idaho Falls-based Bank of Idaho.

According to a news release from Citizens Community Bank, the acquisition is expected to close in the second quarter of 2025. Bank of Idaho operates in three markets: East Idaho, Treasure Valley and East Washington. After the transaction, the East Idaho branches will become part of Citizens Community Bank, the Treasure Valley branches will go to Mountain West Bank, and the East Washington branches will become part of Wheatland Bank.

Jeff Newgard, CEO of Bank of Idaho, said in the news release that Bank of Idaho is glad to have found a partner that shares their vision and values.

“We are excited to join the Glacier family of banks and look forward to the opportunities and benefits this combination will bring our clients, employees and shareholders,” Newgard said in the news release.

Nathan Christensen, CEO of Citizens Community Bank, said in the news release that he is excited to welcome Bank of Idaho’s customers to Citizens Community Bank.

“Bank of Idaho’s footprint complements our current presence in this high-growth market,” Christensen said. “We have truly admired the impact this franchise has had on its community and are focused on fostering the relationships the Bank of Idaho team has developed with its customers.”

Christensen also said this acquisition is part of the bank’s history of adding high quality community banks to their model.
