BLACKFOOT - The Pepsi Two-Man Best Ball golf tournament came down to the last shot on the last hole Sunday, and it was a beauty.

Facing the probability of a three-team playoff, Arnulfo Quintero instead lofted a wedge shot to the 18th green, spinning the ball back within a foot of the pin for a winning birdie. It was a wire-to-wire victory for the local Quintero brothers, and their third this summer in as many tries.

"I told Efren we didn't want a playoff," said Arnulfo Quintero. "I wanted an opportunity to end it now."

His climactic birdie especially disappointed David Hagar, who moments before had rolled in a 14-foot breaking birdie putt on the 18th to pull into a tie at that point. David and John Hagar finished in a tie with Kyle Morgan and Antonio Gonzales at 131, just a shot behind the Quinteros.

Brandon Jackman and Ryan Jensen posted the best round of the day, a 65, to finish fourth at 133 and Dan Pickens and Alan Ward squeezed into fifth at 134, ahead of a three-way tie at 135.

The Quinteros finished the front nine at 3-under-par 33, thanks mainly to Efren's three-foot eagle on the par-5 sixth hole. They reeled off four birdies in a row starting at the 11th, but fell out of the lead with a bogey on the par-3 16th before their tourney winner on the 18th.

Kevin and Kenton Smith copped the First Flight by two strokes with a 5-under-par 137. Todd Ferri and S. Alan won the Second Flight with 147, and net winners in the Third Flight were G. and M. Capson with 135.
