The Idaho State women’s tennis team picked up a 6-1 home win over Northern Colorado on Saturday.

The Bengals swept doubles play before finishing 5-1 in singles play.

“The girls were solid today,” ISU coach Gretchen Maloney said. “Their doubles play was aggressive and consistent. In singles, the girls were patient and stuck with their game plans. It was a good day on the courts.”

The Bengals’ Louise-Mare Botes and Alexandra Arkhipov set the standard with an early 6-2 rout at No. 2 doubles. Hristina Cvetkovic and Megan Poe clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win at No. 1. Madison Fenske and Melissa Coburn sealed the sweep with a 7-5 win.

Angela Walker, Botes, Coburn, Poe and Cvetkovic earned singles wins.

Idaho State (7-9, 3-5 Big Sky Conference) plays at Dixie State on April 12.
