    Off only one day of practice, the Bear Lake Bears blasted Star Valley (Wyo.) 55-30 on the road Friday night.

    Back on Dec. 5, Star Valley beat Bear Lake by 16 points on its home floor in Montpelier. How did Bear Lake, 22 days later, flip the end result around by 41 points?

    Defense.

    "It all started on defense," said Bear Lake head coach Brandon Carlsen. "We just made some buckets tonight, and we got some easy buckets off our defense."

    Kasey Keetch had 14 for the Bears and Derek Weston had 13. But was a balanced scoring effort for Bear Lake with five players all pouring in at least eight points.

    Bear Lake (4-3) travels Aberdeen Friday.
