The Highland Rams (4-1) open up conference play on Friday against Madison. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Holt Arena.

FIRST QUARTER

HIGHLAND 7, MADISON 0, 8:42 -- After an impressive punt return from senior Raimon Barela, Highland started its first offensive possession in the red zone. Three plays later, running back Eli Parrish punched in a 2-yard touchdown to put the Rams on the board.

HIGHLAND 7, MADISON 3, 3:34 -- Madison kicker Jeff Williams hits a 27-yard field goal to put the Bobcats on the board. Madison had a solid drive, highlighted by some impressive catches from receiver Cameron Porter, but couldn't complete a pass in the red zone.

SECOND QUARTER

HIGHLAND 14, MADISON 3, 9:02 -- Highland quarterback jack Whitmer hit receiver Jaxon Shuman on a short out route and Shuman bolted up thr sideline for the 20-yard score. Whitmer is now 7-8 for 68 yards and a TD.

Jack Whitmer threw his first INT just before half but the Rams are still in control.

THIRD QUARTER 

HIGHLAND 21, MADISON 3, 7:54 -- Jack Whitmer zigged and zagged en route to a 34-yard touchdown run. The Rams milked over four minutes on the opening drive of the second half.

HIGHLAND 28, MADISON 3, 1:27 -- Just around midfield, Highland opted for some trickery. Ian Hershey faked  punt and ran for 23 yards. Two plays later, Whitmer ran in a 1-yard TD.

FOURTH QUARTER

HIGHLAND 35, MADISON 3, 9:51 -- Highland started the drive in good field position and didn't need much to find the end zone again. Luke Sidwell got in from a yard out.

HIGHLAND 35, MADISON 10, 8:44 -- Madison shows some life as QB Kieren Valora hits Logan Crane over the middle for what turned into a 67-yard score. 

HIGHLAND 35, MADISON 16, 3:59 -- Cameron Porter catches an 6-yard touchdown catch from Kieren Valora.

HIGHLAND 42, MADISON 16, 3:13 -- After a 44-yard run from Jack Whitmer, Luke Sidwell runs in his second touchdown of the night.

Rams move to 5-1 and 1-0 in 5A District 5-6. Highland plays at Thunder Ridge next week.
