My wife saw the article on court-ordered, public-funded prisoner castration and said, "I see another letter to the editor coming on." She knows me too well, I guess.

So, here goes: If a male prisoner can declare he is not really a man but a woman, so that the authorities must treat him as such, can a convicted felon declare he is not really a convicted felon, so that the authorities must release him?
